Cost of Boys toys
Ok - getting excited now as we have 2 viewings on our house tonight!!
One thing I have been looking into is the cost of TV's, home cinema etc. My current setup is a projector and cinema kit.
We don't own a conventional TV and I was planning on buying a new one (LCD) and chucking it in the container. My cinema sound kit is also on the way out.
A bit of searching on google.co.nz has left me thinking that I would better off taking my sterling to NZ and buying goods there instead.
Anyone looked into this? (assume exchange rate is £1=$3 for ease of conversion)
Cheers

Whatever the cost saving either end I would just say....
Have you thought about warrentys?
If I was buying a high price item, I want to know its garenteed for a few years, how would that work if you bought it in UK then brought it over???
Even if they say its a internation garentee wouldn't it be easier to buy here?

If you are buying a Japanese product, Pioneer ect. then you tend to find that the warranty is global. Something like Arcam (which I have) then maybe not.
However I do have a very good friend who owns a few large AV chains in the Uk and I can get stuff very cheap. This may offset the risk. For me anyway

Hi Jack,
I will also be in the market for a plasma / LCD tv. i was holding back on buying one here because i was told that no uk TVs will work in NZ without connection through a NZ video?
Is this true if not i may be interested in your friend
PS Had visions of my tv on the wall with a video beneath :scared: , so was holding out to buy in NZ
cheers Lee
