Common border for airlines between Oz & NZ?

FLYING from Australia to New Zealand will become almost as cheap and easy as domestic travel under a plan to bring the two countries a step closer to a common border.
What does everyone think about this? Personally I think it's a good thing.

My only reservation is the biosecurity issues. NZ is fairly free of nasties and things that want to kill ya, whereas OZ is teaming with em.
Over 1.1million NZealanders visiting OZ per year is massive considering the total population is only 4.4million.
