Child Passport Advice
Hey Everyone,
I can't seem to find a number at the UK Home Office that will connect me to an operator to ask them a question. This is my situation.
I am a British Citizen in a civil partnership with a NZ Citizen who also gained British Citizenship and has British passport. We moved to NZ last August, she has sponsored me and I have a Residence Visa. In January my partner gave birth in NZ. On the NZ birth certificate I am named legally as the "other parent". Is our daughter entitled to a British Passport? I can't seem to find any information for families in Civil Partnerships.
Cheers

Re: Child Passport Advice
Thanks but I don't know if under British Law I am regarded as a parent.
Also I am being thick but what does by descent mean?
My family is all British but my partner is NZ born and so are her parents.
Cheers

If you both have British passports then I can't see why your daughter can't. descent is family history
