Oooh have a nice time, we just got back from Nelson at 6.30pm been there a week, left at 10am this morning and had a few stops on the way like Picton and Kaikoura. Went around the Queen Charlotte Drive from Havelock as well. Had a beachfront apartment which was very noisy, reminder to self don't book a beachfront apartment again!

Shirl, we've just been for a week's holiday in Monaco, Nelson, booked through www.nelsonholidayhomes.co.nz We stayed in 'waterfront' which was a stunning 4 bed property right on the bay, a beautiful garden and then a few steps (literally) down to a safe bay/beach, perfect for the kids. We were a large group (8) so filled it to capacity which cut down the cost substantially but I can't recommend it enough - just stunning and very quiet! We also managed two calm crossings on the interislander, plus whales, dolphins and seals in Kaikoura - the only downside - the parents and parents-in-law from the UK who are staying with us forever...or so it seems

Ohh that looks lovely, bit pricey for us though. We only payed $175 per night for an apartment in Latitude 41 for 4 people. But for a nice weekend getaway for 2 it would be nice in winter!
