Talking Change of Address!

At last, after viewing in the region of 200 4 bedroom houses we have finally bought one!!!

We move in on the 1st June but have until December to settle as we arranged to rent it until our money comes through from the house sale in the UK.

Thankfully we have just had confirmation this will actually be on the 8th June so all's well that ends well!!

We are very happy bunnies!!

But be warned those of you yet to get here, property is way more expensive than you think it will be. We had to increase the budget by half as much again to get anywhere near what we wanted.

Anyone need any help on Real Estate matters ask away and I'll try and help.

Congrats also.

Was it tender, negotation or auction?

Well done!

We've just has our settlement interview and were asked how much we'd be planning to pay for a rental property and a home to buy.
What happened that made the house cost more? Is the price not fixed or as Ted says were they auction, negotiation or tender ?

I could be wrong - it has happened before - but I don't think she meant the house they bought ended up costing more - I think she just meant that they had a budget in mind and then got there and realised things were more expensive generally than they'd been banking on so they reassessed their budget.

I think.

Hi Caroline,
this is great news, very pleased for you all. Will look forward to hearing more about it. Missing having you here to chat to about all matters N.Z , we are at stage of Brittania coming in in 10 days time to take 2 days to pack all worldly possesions, to then be stored. We will move in with my parents until its time to come over to NZ. All very stressful at the mo, just like you said it would be, don't know which way to turn first.
So can you tell me, in your area, how much are the 4 bedroom houses going for, the doer-uppers and the newer ones?
Take care all of you, look forward to hearing from you
Marika & Co.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear, Mazi is right. We just couldn't find anything within our original budget so had to significantly increase it. But no, we just made an offer and got it. I'll email you Helen re: rental etc.
