My son has just returned from a trip to the UK. Whilst there he bought a motorola mobile with a vodafone sim. Anybody know how/if the phone can be unlocked so it will take a NZ vodafone sim card?

Maybe it will be unlocked already, I heard they stopped locking phone networks a good while ago.
If it is locked that's bad news, I tried to find someone in Ch.ch to do mine and I did but it was stupid expensive. Maybe where you are it will be cheaper .... good luck

Vodaphone sim card should be OK.

I bought mine from NZ to Oz and it works fine (just I never use it)

If it does not work do an Internet search for the particular type of 'phone and see if there is a guide for unlocking it manually, you may be surprised how many 'phones do not need computer wizardry!

Thanks Sky and NG - Despite my sons protests that it would make no diff have put NZ SIM card in the phone and it works just fine. I am getting great joy out of 'I told you so'....
