Default Arriving with a baby...

Seeing as d day is fast approaching, we have just been to see our health visitor and tiold her we are leaving for NZ and she said to try and find out some info before we land.

Our daughter will be nigh on 11 months when we land, whats the best thing to do about registering with the health service etc as she is due some jabs at 1 year.

thanks in advance!

Once you have your visa in your passport you can register at the Dr's. but I think you may have to pay as health care isn't free. Not sure on babies that young. Could you not get the jabs done in UK a bit earlier?

Just find a local GP and sign up there. All under 6 are free to see the GP and vacinations are free.

When you register at the GP, take your kids' red books (assuming they are still red). They will add the details of all jabs to it. Jabs when they're older are done at school and they are all free.

My kids were most disappointed as they needed HepB jabs which they don't give kids in the UK. Their faces fell further when the nurse told them it was 3 injections. Welcome to NZ kids
