Anyone live with a snorer!!!
Hi All
Does anyone live with a snorer? I'm lying next to one right now!!! He got 4 teeth out just after we came back from NZ & it has made it worse gets his new plate next week dentist reckons it will help if not he will get him a snoring guard. I personally don't think it will help. Doctor gave me sleeping tablets but scared to take them. He has tried every anti snoring product on the market. I know it's not his fault but it's doing my head in & don't think it's right to sleep in separate beds I'd probably get to used to it pmsl

Has he tried this it works for me. We buy it when we are in Spain and it works for me.
"Marjoram oil is widely believed to be the most appropriate oil for snorers. Typically sold in a jar; the oil saturates a sort of sponge. You leave the jar open by your bedside, allowing the oils to gradually fill your bedroom with a pleasant scent."

I know this is a longer term solution but I snore but it gets a lot better when ;
a) I don't drink especially beer
b) I cut my weight down to it's ideal BMI level - even a few pounds over makes it a lot worse
c) I excerise daily especially chest / upper body
d) I take nose spray or nose drops
e) it's not hay fever season (the Pohutekwa tree blossom seems to trigger nasel congestion with me
My son had bad snoring problems which stopped totally after a tonsil / adeniod removal

Failing the above there are snoring priducts in chemists, e.g. Snorenz
Or you could get him to glug some olive oil right before he goes to bed.

He put me forward as replacement for the Flamborough Light House Fog Horn when we were first married., but the RSPB stepped in claiming it was cruel to the nesting seabirds!
After 29 years of him waking me up, digging me in the ribs and turning me over like a pig on a spit [I ask you is that anyway to treat your wife or keep the flames of romance alive? NO!] something had to change.
Solution !
When the family flew the nest I had the choice of three lovely bedrooms. I chose one and made it into a haven of relaxation. My very own beautiful feminine room, with my very own beautiful big bed.
Romance is back in full swing! I visit him, he visits me!
and we both get a wonderful nights sleep
After 40yrs together, separate rooms is no bad thing, if it saves your sanity/health and marriage.
Both him and my sons kept the earplug companies going for quite some time. There are a variety of different types. If leaving the marital bed is so hard for you, try wearing ear plugs.
Seriously, I could have had an operation to remove part of my soft palate 30yrs ago, but he wasn't prepared to let me take the risk [Bless him!]
He probably snores himself now but me being deaf, I can't hear a thing. There are so many things to be thankful for in old age!

YES! But the solution was very simple. I wear ear plugs. The foam ones from the chemist work OK but, many years ago, I had a pair custom made. They guarantee a comfortable night.

I agree. That's gorgeous advice, but I couldn't help remembering an interview I heard where it was revealed that the Queen and Prince Philip slept in separate bedrooms, although I don't know if it's because he/she snores. Put this together with a Billy Connnelly interview - "Would one care to meet in my chamber tonight?" "Certainly. One would like to give one one."

Hi
Thanks for the replies snoring has got to be the worst thing ever!!! Think I will try the ear plugs see if that works if not the pillow may be an option

Are you sure it's not MY husband - bet you could hear him down there too
I use these http://www.trademe.co.nz/Building-re...-267984957.htm and when that doesn't work we also adopt Jennifer's solution. I know some people who are afraid to use ear plugs in case they don't hear babies crying or their alarm going off but you do - it's selective deafness

Re: Anyone live with a snorer!!!
We fly from Heathrow to Christchurch on 20 July, my husband (he truly is the world's worst snorer) reckons he is 'just going to stay awake' rather than have everyone on the plane want to kill him! I thought I might get him those nose plugs people use for swimming, see if they work. It is going to be a nightmare!
