Anyone ever worked for Ministry of Health (MOH) NZ?

How is the work culture and the attitude of the managers?

Possibility of a job offer - however, unsure about the work culture in a govt. body

I've got a friend work for MOH. Policy analyst. He's still there since graduate. (2006)

MOH - I believe one of BIG & stable govt dpt.

I worked for MORST before, and found them pleasant and helpful. What a nice bunch of people to work with - so professional, talented and approachable.

I can't tell you about attitude of the managers though. It depends on person to person isnt it. big boss there (at my work),, strict - its my personal impression. at times its not easy to communicate with.

the work culture? -- working in vertical organizational structures. HARD!

well each department has a slightly different culture with different way of operating.

133 Molesworth Street - IT related work

Already heard something about the extremely strict Dress Code at MOH from the recruitment agencies who hire for them.

Um, maybe just strict in an NZ sense. i.e. long trousers and a shirt (rather than shorts and a vest or bare chest) are required.

most of people seem to wear black & grey at work as long as I remember. However women there,,, are allowed to wear colorful dress too - especially in summer. Not always smart looking but tidy enough. the majority of women wear black suits anyhow.

I did wear lots of bright colour though. Pink/cream/floral patterns etc I was ok. but think I shouldn't really.

A very strict place to work (with lots of pressure)!

my brother worked for DIA he had always worn a black suit, white shirt, and deep-colored tie EVERYDAY. No exception!

I have a bright pink coat and it caused someone to stop me in the street in Wellington. It was to give me a compliment, I hasten to add.

People stare at it like it's from Outer Space. No, just Marks & Spencer.

Worst Govt. Department to work for - makes me look at New Zealand in a different light.

The permanent employees treat contractors as disposable commodities and an inferior breed of humanity.

Toilets in the office were horrible and saw many were shabbily dressed - so much for dress code
