Default Any UK farmerd moved to NZ?

Hi,
Me and my husband (whos a farmer) are wanting to move to New Zealand. Just wondered if theres any farmers on here that have done this already
If so what are your thoughs and experience doing this? We have 2 young children and want to do it when their young so they adjust easier.
Still trying to work out if we can afford to live out there but we will.
Thanks in advance

Would your husband be wanting to be a farmer as in buy/own/manage a farm or is he planning on being a farm worker? Does he have any relevant qualifications?
Beef, dairy, poultry and mixed crop managers/farmers are all on the immediate skills shortage list [ISSL] which means he could apply for a work visa. He would have to get a job first, fulfil the requirements on the ISSL and then apply for a visa. It is job first.
Farmers ISSL
A work visa does not automatically lead to residency though if you have enough points through working and the job offer then you can apply. It would be a separate application.

Do you have any skills or qualifications?

Hi he would want to work for someone for about 2 years then we would buy our own place (he learns the New Zealand way of farming and we have The inheritance money to buy). He currently works both sheep and cattle, We have afew hens but not enough to classed as been farmed.
Yes we know he will need a job first, I am currently working on his CV and he ould come over to NZ without us for interview if skype ones are appropriate. He has 15 years experience, did studyy for a National Diploma in agriculture but a foot and month outbreak prevented him finishing it
I am a stay at home mum but do have qualifications. I have a National diploma in animal care, higher national diploma in animal science and a BSc(hons) in animal management.
Thank you for your advice x
