You were right with the first 3 words then you went awry! Cats should be kept indoors permanently. It's better for them, indoor cats live 3 times longer than feral cats and 50% longer than domestic cats that are allowed to roam free.

Re: Any snow on ruapehu yet
So my wee dog on a lead is more dangerous to native creatures than a 1080 bombing raid.
He will do more damage on the end of his 1.5 meter lead than all the baited carcasses and poisons
that get dumped and dropped. More damage than a poison that is banned for being too dangerous
in other countries.
A poison that kills the very things it is supposed to protect...interesting !!
Guess I'll take him to the beach then, or is he banned from there as well

Depends where the beach is. Check the local district council bylaws. Particularly when daylight saving kicks in.

Not at all. You asked a question and I replied. No need to take umbrage and attack the messenger. Saved you and your dog a wasted trip to Mt Ruepehu anyway. Good grief.
All local authorities in NZ are required by law to set bylaws pertaining to dog ownership and control in their area. Many countries do similarly. The onus is on the dog owner to comply with these laws or risk the consequences. Like it or lump it.
