All about shipping worldy goods to New Zealand
Someone referred to packages? Is a container to pack your stuff like a pod? or do you have to package up everything? PLMK

Don't know what a pod is but a container is a steel rectangular shipping box with doors that can be sealed & come in 20ft or 40ft sizes. Packages refers to items being wrapped up and placed in the container for shipping. As far as I know everything has to be wrapped up except vehicles. The packaging prevents any contamination during the 12 weeks of shipping eg from spiders or the like I suppose. The packaging also allows things to be placed together to reduce the number of individual items unpacked at the end and it also makes it easier to create the inventory for use by the shipping agent, customs & MAF

No. Your international shipper should include this in their quote to you.
It can be the case that your marine insurance is voided if your stuff is not packed by professional packers and shippers.
