Default Advice on regular Medication when travelling for a year to NZ

Hi all

Im thinking about going to New Zealand on a 1 year visa but take regular anti depressants.

Anyone else travelled that took medication, how did you go about having your medication. Wouldnt imagine the doc would prescribe me 12 months worth!

Very much doubt you'll get enough medication for your trip, especially if there's an overdose risk with the medication. Highest amount will be 3 months worth which is actually the legal maximum allowed into the country.

When we departed for NZ my GP prescribed on private prescription 3 months supply of meds and an enclosed covering letter for customs. The meds were not on NHS cover.

As a heads up, the medical centre where I work (Chch) charges non resident patients $110 for a standard doctors consultation.

Do they offer cheaper appointments for Brits under the reciprocal care agreement?
