Working abroad and limited romantic opportunities
Hello all
I work abroad in an interesting country and I’m in my late 30s. I have had interest from a few local women but have not followed up on any of the advances. This is partly since I cannot imagine a long-term relationship working out due to cultural differences e.g. taking someone back with me, and also the rate of std’s is high here. So my plan is to do it for a year or two, save some money, do other things in my spare time e.g. sport, and make a plan to find work closer to home.
However, I cannot help but feel I’m wasting my 30’s in a place I’m not going to meet somebody. I guess it’s just a bit of anxiety creeping in and also perhaps some sub-conscious peer pressure as all my friends back home are settling/settled down. Any thoughts welcome from any old hands at this?
Cheers
