Remember the horsemeat incident in the UK? Some people dressed up as horses and went into one of the grocery stores looking for their mother on the shelves!!! It made YouTube and the newspapers but in the US you would have been in BIG trouble for stating your opinion in such a fashion.
I always remember this incident for just this reason. It's a great example.

To answer the question originally posed, I'd probably go and say something controversial just to offend the English's sensibilities. I love the freedom of speech and approach to the right to be offended here in America.

There is no such thing as freedom of speech. Look at the obsession with PC and how you have to change every little word you say because it might offend someone. Cant say someone has a black mark against their name as its offensive, blah, blah, blah. No such things as freedom of speech anywhere in the world anymore. The english are not easily offended so you might have to come up with something really good, much easier to piss of an american just point out the realistic facts about their country and that should do it!!
I would suggest you try a sausage roll or maybe some fish and chips!!

I'm afraid that your knowledge about all things 'freedom' related is less than zero. Have you ever read any political theory on this out of interest?

You really think you can say the N word here and nothing happens, give me a break! maybe turn on the tv set and see whats happening in the US!! As for brits being PC, were are the most inappropriate nation going and always have been. we don't give a f* about being PC and never have been. maybe have a conversation with a few brits instead of insulting them from behind your PC and you might learn something. I obviously have a greater knowledge than you judging by your posts. If you have to try to win arguments through insults then you are probably not as knowledgeable as you think. Maybe head over to the US thread and be obnoxious there!!

Are you joking? The Brits revel in being offended and conforming to political correctness. When you see people being prosecuted for airing an OPINION or VIEW on twitter in the States let me know. Heck you can call someone the n word here and not face arrest (as much as I abhor the use of that word, it is a good example to use in this case) yet try that one in the UK even on twitter and see what happens. The cops will come knocking faster than you know.

Getting this thread back on topic, I'm really craving bake well tarts and millionaires shortbread so I will add them to my list of things to do first.

One of the first things I would like to do is go to a bakery and buy at least one of everything and just gorge myself with all British baked goods!

I think my first trip to the supermarket is going to be an expensive one, just so many good things that I miss!
