I imagine though, that those opposed to this type of suicide would use this type of terminalogy "Bumping off" to completely discredit it.

Euthanasia will probably always be a highly controversial topic, but I personally think that in those circumstances it should be allowed, and is better for both of them than suffering for months or years with no quality of life.
As long as euthanasia is only allowed in specialist clinics like dignitas, and is strictly regulated so that certain criteria has to be fulfilled before someone can be allowed to die that way, I don't see too many major problems with it (except of course that it's bound to be very sad for the relatives and friends left behind, but then that's always true when someone dies regardless of how).
