Many (but probably not "most") people want to move as soon as they have the visa... so they hand in their notice beforehand in anticipation of an approved visa. When the visa is delayed... boy oh boy, are they ever pissed off. I think waiting until you have the visa in your passport is, by far, the more sensible course of action.

oh wow what good news, congrats and lucky for such a smooth ride at the interview.
I dream of the day i walk out of the embassy with an approval... till then im a nervous wreck with all the things i need to collect..
