Hi, all.
Still don't have my own net so I'm on my brother's computer.
Well, apart from the plane going through some severe turbulence, we got here ok. Took about 45 mins to get the dog checked in at Miami, and about an hour to be checked at the Heathrow end. The DEFRA peeps are really nice. My family likes the dog. Mum's even been crawling on all fours to play with her!
I got a nice surprise when I landed. I called mum to let her know I was there, and she said she'd meet me near the entrance. Lo and behold, my brother who I haven't seen since I left was there with his wife instead! Yay!!!
It's been really cold and the pup is having a bit of a hard time adjusting, but she'll be ok once she's settled. I got some little things for myself like a small telly and DVD player to help me settle, so it's been ok. Bit hard to get used to a tiny room again, though!
All in all, a good trip, and no regrets. Been to the shops and bought some Monster Munch, sausage rolls, and stuffing my face with French Fancies and trifle, so I may even put my lost weight back on soon! Hehehehe!!!
Anyway, best look for a job now!

Very best of luck to you and your pup - spring is around the corner, so hopefully you both should acclimatise soon.

Glad to see you got back safely Kate! As Jojosan said, spring is just around the corner so you will be able to take walks outside and frolic in the daffs in no time at all!

I know what you mean about putting weight on. When i was there last year for 3mths, i became obsessed with eating all the things i couldnt get in Aus. Low and behold the main culprit was Tesco finest sultana scones with strawberry jam and REAL clotted cream!!!.. oh my lord!! within a month I had gained 2kg

Glad its all going well

Really pleased for you Kate and glad fluffy one has been well received. We had the shots done for our dog in January, blood test February so the earliest she can fly is August 11th. Did you have to pay anything at Heathrow or is that just when they have to go into quarentine?

Yeyyyyy!!
Glad to hear you are back safe and sound. Amazed how quickly you got your pooch through Heathrow!!!!
Everything will fall into place in it's own time,in it's own way and you have your gorgeous pup to ensure you both enjoy your new surroundings and a familiar, comforting life.
Monster Munch and Trifle - are you in heaven???
