Hi Folks,

My family and I are trying to move back home from Ontario, Canada but getting a removals shipping company is proving very difficult.
We used Pickfords a few years ago and they were very good. I wanted to try them again but they are practically unresponsive!! I have called repeatedly but no answer and sent emails but to no avail. Does anybody know if they have gone bust or something?
We want to pack our own 20ft container and ship it back home to Northern Ireland. I have received a quote from UPAKWESHIP which provides 2 hrs free loading but charges $80-90 USD per hr there after which I fear could work out expensive as it is only my Wife and I loading.
Has anyone got some suggestions?

Movers are based and operate at the "from" end of a move, and AFAIK Pickfords has no operations in North America, so I am not surprised that they are unresponsive because they have no means of providing service when you are moving from Canada.

When you used Pickfords to move to Canada Pickfords did what all movers do with international shipments - they packed and loaded your home contents and took the container to the port, then passed on responsibility for receiving the container at the port in Canada and delivering the contents to you home, or other designated point of delivery, to an agent company in Canada.
