TONY BLAIR NEW BOOK
So what do you guys think of excerpts from Tony Blair's new book?? I think it is brilliant and shows what kind of person Gordon brown was/is-not that i ever liked him or thought higly of him. Only thing i didnt really care for was when Blair writes that he would have still gone to iraq after all that has happened but o well..... Just like Billy Bob, Blair has the looks, charisma and charm that many a politician would die for.

I'm not sure I will buy the book - may get it from my local library when it becomes available. I used to like Tony Blair - until he sided with Bush and invaded Iraq - and just like Bush - will never admit it was a mistake. One thing that surprised me is when he (Blair) admitted to fairly heavy drinking the last year or so he was in office.

Anybody got direct links to the excerpts? I couldn't be bothered earlier. |

His thoughts on America, Americans, and the three most recent Presidents:

Re: TONY BLAIR NEW BOOK
Watched his interview on BBC2 with Andrew Marr last night - he is still as smarmy and evasive as ever - cant stand the man! Definitely wont be buying his book.

Re: TONY BLAIR NEW BOOK
I wouldn't urinate on him if he was on fire pretty much sums up my thoughts of the man.

Whilst I am no fan of his policies, I will probably buy the audio-book.

Re: TONY BLAIR NEW BOOK
Tony B*liar has the bloody gall to describe The Queen as "haughty" following the death of Diana and all that happened at that time. What with the way B*liar and his ghastly openly anti Royalist wife and his truly obnoxious press secretary (or whatever he called himself) master of spin Alistair Campbell behaved towards her and her family what other kind of reaction would he have expected from the gracious lady at Buck House. He is about the most infamous opportunist ever to darken the door of No 10 Downing Street, now rolling in so much brass that he is going round the world buying mansions hand over fist. The right place for this odiously mendacious geezer is in the dock at the International Courts of Justice in Den Haag (The Hague).

Re: TONY BLAIR NEW BOOK
From my point of view I liked Toni Blair and his "New Labour". He was doing a superb job until he got himself involved in the whole Iraq/Afghanistan situation.
If nothing else he revolutionized social care. So many important government white and green papers were released on child care under the last Labour government. They passed laws that improved residential child care a great deal whilst also making it a lot safer, although not water tight. |

Re: TONY BLAIR NEW BOOK
Apparently now the fastest selling autobiography in UK history. The mind boggles.

Re: TONY BLAIR NEW BOOK
In case anyone is interested - Tony Blair will be interviewed by Christiane Amanpour this coming Sunday morning on "This Week" on ABC. I will probably watch it (out of curiosity).

GW's edition probably had the man in the yellow hat reading it. (from CNN)... Blair writes that Bush was "very smart" -  while having "immense simplicity in how he saw the world." - that's because he didn't understand it. Former U.S. President George W. Bush was a "true idealist" - (add delusion extrodinairre imo) who displayed "genuine integrity and political courage,".... insertion of author's discretion for embellishment... and page stuffer. I can't be bothered to see if Blair was being back-handed... |

Re: TONY BLAIR NEW BOOK
I'll read it after going through Mandelson's memoirs but it'll be interesting to see how much candour both present. At least Blair is doing the decent thing and donating the profits from his tome to charity - though probably not the squillions he got as an advance.

Many of us had a very good idea anyway of what went on behind the scenes between this man and that other political disaster area - Gordon Brown, a man I am ashamed to call a fellow Scot, one who behaved in a way no self respecting Scot normally does - spending money like there was no tomorrow - OUR public money - OUR hard earned taxes, frequently paid to the non deserving or on crazy "politically correct" schemes which mostly failed anyway - and in the process amassing a huge national deficit which will probably take until all present day newborns become eligible to draw their state pensions, which looks set to be raised to 72 in a few years' time according to the Coalition Government. |
Re: TONY BLAIR NEW BOOK
I wont be buying it but i have obtained it via an online copy (torrent).
I'll skim read it. Blair isnt a Socialist though he is quite happy to preach Socialism. What he wants is Socialism for everyone else but he wants the best for himself and his family. He knows nothing of the real lives of ordinary people in Great Britain. I expct he is suffering from the psychological traumas brought about by the realisation that he has caused the deaths and injuries of thousands by kowtowing to Bush and his phoney war. |

In terms of responsibility for war deaths, though, Blair is way ahead of Thatcher: however posterity judges the rest of his public life, Blair should always be remembered as somebody who deliberately lied to start a war that has caused and will cause probably a million or more deaths. As far as I am concerned he is a war criminal and should be in front the court in The Hague. |
Re: TONY BLAIR NEW BOOK
i wouldnt buy it just in case a single penny found its way back into the blair witches coffers. I cannot abide her and would do zero to supply her with any kind of funding.

Re: TONY BLAIR NEW BOOK
Bugger Blair.......the journalist Quentin Letts (who lives close to my grandparents in Herefordshire here) recently had a book published with the title "50 people who Buggered up Britain". High up on the list was Tony B'liar, so positively no surprise there.
Ignore the man B'liar and let's go sailing by him and his ilk.......sailing the waters surrounding this Blair'n'Brown buggered up Island of ours.....via North Utsire, South Utsire, Viking, German Bight, Tyne, Dogger, Humber, Thames, Dover, Wight, Portland, Plymouth, Bailey, Biscay, Fortes, Lundy, Irish Sea, Rockall..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFdas...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNaRB...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWl0Q...eature=related Sailing By is broadcast every early morning c 00:45hrs prior to the BBC Radio 4UK sea areas Shipping Forecast and is one of the longest running signature tunes on BBC radio. |
