Time to go home soon
#1
Greetings,
I was born in Kingslynn and was adopted out to an American Air Force family when I was 4. I always felt like a fish out of water here in the U.S.. I also promised myself that I would return to the U.K. before I died. Well, it seems that time is approaching for me.
My question for all you fine folks out there is approx. how much $ would I need to set up a modest life over there. I was hoping to find a flat to share or a room to rent in the Kingslynn area. Just a ballpark figure or a wild guess would be fine because I really have no idea.
Also, seeing as I have dual citzenship would applying for a British passport be more appropriate, or an American passport? Mind you I don't intend returning to the U.S.
Thanks so much in advance. I hope to do a lot more reading on here as time and health allows.

When all else fails....follow instructions.
Perhaps I will learn that one soon. This place has some great info posted! Thank you for the suggestion though, I will try that as well. As far as how much time I've got is up in the air. My doctors tried to put it gently when they said more chemo would do more harm then good at this point. So we shall see. We've all gotta go sometime.
This is a little sooner then I would like but then again I'm not running things.
Thanks again for your reply.

Terrible news that you have the cancer. But spending your last days on the face of the earth in the UK is missing a lot of opportunities of being in places much calmer, less expensive and with a less oppressed population.

Hi,
For house prices and rental costs I recommend you looking at the rightmove website that has current properties for sale or rent in most if not all of the UK.

I hope this helps,
