At least you knew what they were - there's a whole generation that would have to pull out their smartphones to look them up!

How about a knitted cozy (with pom pom on top) and crocheted doilies to put the cups (or will it be mugs?) on? That's posh innit?

(Another Essex girl escapee. Can't get away with me white shoes and black tights here)

We just called 'em doilies over here and I had great aunts and grandmothers that subscribed to that endeavor. My mother, from whom I have inherited the lack of skill (although she COULD knit and I can not) did not subscribe to that.

Ah, now to us, doilies would be little round lacey paper things to put cakes on to make them look posh.

I think this is ok as a final pass.

Amended Amended Amended Amended Amended Rules

1) Tea should be HOT and STRONG
2) Tea should be Indian (Black leaf)
3) Tea should be surrounded by a large mound of (real) Jaffa Cakes, and / or Ginger Snaps and Bourbon Creams.

Addendum
a) Use of sugar to carry a punishment of not-less-than one visit to Starbucks.
Proviso: The use of sugar MAY be considered if it is administered in the event of accident involving motorised vehicles and/or chainsaws in which the severance of at least one appendage has occurred.
Note: Should this occur, the (sugared) tea should be administered with a considerable amount of "tutting" and use of the word "dear".
Proviso: Sugared tea may be deemed inappropriate by certain die-hard consumers. In this instance, a stiff talking to and a disparaging comment regarding the quantity of remaining limbs may be seen as a valid substitute.
Addendum
b)Milk shall be the only approved lightening agent permitted. This to be added to the cup only AFTER the tea has been poured.
Substances such as "Creamer", "Half and Half" or other type of faux milk product are completely unacceptable.
Lemon should be kept at a minimum safe distance of one mile from any source of freshly brewed tea.

Rules regarding the type and use of Tea making equipment (Kettles, Urns, Teapots, Strainers etc) are deemed beyond the scope of this document and should be covered under a separate set of regulations.
It is recommended, however that Tea Cozeys should be of the hand crafted variety and that their design should include a pom pom or some type of integrated design element that makes them easily distinguishable from items such as toilet roll covers, balaclavas and other yarn-based craft items.

Sorry, can't agree to the milk AFTER tea. Milk BEFORE tea. Therefore, the tea warms the milk, rather than the milk cooling the tea and tea remains HOT - see 1) above.

Do we need a sub-commit-tea for the tea making equipment?

Needs a tweek for the sugar addendum: Sugared tea a neccessity after having a baby (probably needed by both parents)

Nope milk after tea. That way you don't put too much milk in it. I hate milky cuppas...even worse weak, milky cuppas. .
