Spring coming early again.
I cannot belive there are daffs out already, frogs-spawn in my pond this morning:blink: and a robin is building a nest in my garage. we have gone through a recent cold snap recently but I have noticed the UK is getting warmer and warmer year by year and the experts are saying it is happening at an alarming rate, my heating bills are at least in the black:thumbup:

Re: Spring coming early again.
Ah, now this time last year I'd be out on my horse looking at the new born lambs in the fields........... In fact I think it would have been a few weeks ago. Yup, definitely getting earlier.
Can anyone put a piccie of a daffodil on here for us ? A xxx |

Yes, nice to see the sun! I don't mind it being cold, as long as it doesn't rain! No pics of daffs to post yet, but I'll keep my eyes open!

Re: Spring coming early again.
Thick fog this morning in my part of Ontario and I can't even see to the bottom of the garden 30 yards away. The daffodils are still snug under the snow and won't struggle through until the end of April, maybe even the middle of May! I yearn for and English Spring........:(

Re: Spring coming early again.
Well, here in the UK the weather has been completely sh*te since the end of April last year.
Summer fell on a week end (all three days of it) All we need is a crap spring and we will have gone for a whole year without decent weather. When we went out to Spain the first time to look at properties, I had forgotten what it was like (previous time mid seventies) and it was like being on an alien planet because the sky was a beautiful deep blue all day, every day we were there. |

Re: Spring coming early again.
Well, people say I am very negative about the weather here, but I used to actually keep records to prove I was right. I kept koi and recorded the water temps, and then added the weather out of curiosity.
Looking at days when the sun shines all day, those idyllic summer days. Well in the months may to August, I counted most years with less than 20 days like that in the whole summer. Sometimes it was as little as ten. By and large we get more days like that in the winter than we do in the summer. Summers are warmer these days, but we don't get more sun. |

Blimey, its what you make of it:blink: I enjoy life to the full and walk all over the Country on my days off work and prefer it warm but cloudy, hated the sun and heat in Oz which soon gets you down and you cannot go outside because it is to bloody hot:unsure: |
Re: Spring coming early again.
When life gives you lemons ... but what if you are allergic to lemons??
I love being outside and working in the garden, but who wants to go outside when it's cold, wet and above all else grey with cloudy skies that never seem to end? When it's too hot in Spain (there's usually a breeze, so even 40+ isn't too bad) I just use my head. Work at the beginning or end of the day, then when it's really hot, put my feet up in the shade, go swimming at the beach, fishing, whatever. |

Going on holiday is great for 2 weeks, but to work in that heat is no fun and the heat really got me down in Oz. I could not get outside and was stuck in some weekends as no one unless mad went outside. |
