My hubby is from Canada and he didn;t want to live in Manchester or Cheshre where I'm from but he liked Warwickshire.

Where are you from? Can you recommend any other fab places to live there? We're still wondering whether we're town or village people!

Look fwd to talking with you, Lily.

So, we have sold our house to a friend which meant avoiding viewings and realtor fees. Hooray. We put in a new kitchen (arrived 2 days after Isobel's birth - aaagghh) and I think it really helped with the sale. Lots of people told us not to do it but delighted we did as it paid off in the end.

Now it's time to start selling furniture which feels rather daunting. Hopefully hubby will take paternity leave and we can get it done together. I love Canadian paternity rights! Apparently he can continue to claim when we go home too. Madness.

And sanity wise.........slightly stressed but coping. I take big gulps of air and venture into the basement to do yet another Sally Ann run. I just hope this is the right decision for our family......I believe it will be.

And emotionally, I currently feel lonely and bored. After 7 years I have made one very close friend (a bloody Brit) and a few acquaintances. I'm a social gal but I find it so difficult here. I've tried getting to know some new mum's but I have no energy to bother anymore especially now we know we're going. I want to sit with a glass of wine with my old chums around me and my Mum who is an amazing support.

We'll stay on the island though the summer and camp and enjoy some sun and then do a trip to the US and head home with the dog (and hubby and kids) in Nov. Xmas with Mum, Feb in India, March job hunting. Aaagaghh.....

Feeling blessed that it's all going smoothly so far. Good luck to all in their moves back. x
Hello LB

Great news on the home....I had a "oh my gawd" moment when we finally sold ours....lol...just try to take things smoothly...it all does come together in the end....our small dog arrived on Friday and she is having a ball...loves the big parks we have near by and already I take much longer to walk her than normal because of stopping to have a chat with other dog walkers...soooo different to where we lived in Perth....I am sat using my sil computer at the moment and it is sooooooooooooo nice just to nip around without an invite and not to feel cheeky doing so....at the moment she is making me a ham sandwich....just bliss...already had a nice meal with friends...which was just so good...so natural..and a good laugh...we know each other warts and all as they say.....good luck and so far we have had good weather but really we don't mind if we had not....take care....all the best...ps...it really is a lovely country we have here...I just wish people would realise just what they have...but hey hoe....

Thank you Brits,

It's so great to hear good reports from you and I agree, Blighty is truly lovely and under appreciated. I understand her plight some days! lol In fact I never wanted to leave, I was on a year trip around the world and found myself a hubby and stayed. It's been a great opportunity but time to share my lovely kiddiwinks with old chums and family, reconnect with people I LOVE.......you know....

I'm so looking fwd to coming home and having 'a good laugh' as it's the same here as it is in Perth, lots of 'nice' chats but little laughter and certainly very few belly laughs. Can't wait for that familiarity of home. I often feel paranoid here and out of sorts.

Where are you again? I find it hard to keep track of people on here. I have a very wee mummy brain these days. Part woman, part fish!

We're just in the process of discussing our trip prior to leaving. We're buying a tent trailer and going off to the States and down to Mexico.....I hope. It'll be great to be together as a family and watch Isobel grow and change together. She's already almost doubled in size!

OK, off to get a small boy out of time out and to continue clearing a somewhat cluttered basement...full of crap!

Best wishes and I'm delighted for you. Enjoy....I know you will and give me every positive asppect of living in Blighty, it's inspiring. Wish I was there for the World Cup. x
