Could it be a ploy to prevent you from leaving? i.e. Coerce your finances so that you are unable to leave?

What have things come to:(:( http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/7587/hugsgi6.gif I'll try to chat to you later on msn. Meanwhile, have you worked out how much the house is actually costing you each month? Have you thought of reducing the price taking that into account? The quicker you get home to your daughter and get your lives back away from that.....that.....http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/3626/bitchwb1.gif, sorry, thought of worse but couldn't say it on here, the better.x |

This is a brilliant idea SGG. We did this when we had our house up for sale in the UK. The house sale fell through twice and we were desparate to get away and get on with things.

Re: So FED UP!!
Well, your husband agreed to pay for his cousin's fare, even if the request was unreasonable and you couldn't really afford it. I wouldn't go back on my word, but that's just me.
I can't see any reason to pay for, or subsidise, anyone else. Your mother in law asked him to pay for one particular person, not the whole family, and I'd probably tell them that. Start a fight amongst them. It might make you feel better! |

I have just caught up with this thread I can't believe that the MIL is still manipulating everything  God i can't even put into words how cross i felt for you hon Personally i would have slapped OH, but in all honesty my OH is tighter than me:rofl: so it wouldn't have been a prob, there is no way we would pay for a relly that we don't see to come and visit someone else (not even to visit us) The reducing the price thingy that GG mentioned sounds good  Speak soon Sxxx |

No thanks or nothing. If they dare ask for spending money i'm gonna loose the plot:curse: This cousin is a drug user and never worked in their life. Not bad going eh!:sneaky: But it was his mums wish......arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Anyway..if i reduce my house anymore i will make a complete loss, so it has to stay as it is for the time being. We are going back nevertheless, sold or not. We will have to have a very slow start in UK, which we are prepared to do. Keep in touch Sam:wub: |

I would have said no as well but to be honest, I reckon if Mr PP really wanted to help his family (rightly or wrongly) then he would do it - with or without my approval. That sounded like a real 'control experiment' from your MIL to me, she wanted to see just how much power she has over your partner. I feel very very sorry for you and what has just happened. I am rarely lost for words but this woman has shocked the knickers off me.:curse: |

Thanks Sam. It is quite a shocker. Oh well, she's got the cash now, just hope no-one else expects handouts on her say so.:frown:
Im also shocked that other relatives would expect a freebie, because that is exactly what they want - a freebie. Because if they were that concerned about her they would move heaven and earth to get to see her and not expect someone else to freeload them. Get your arse to my house, we can lock ourselves in and protect ourselves from the freeloaders - I shall buy the wine. |

Possibly because this person is a dole dosser and druggie, but his mum wants her over as they were very close back in UK. Hubby said he will never pay anything out again as he knows how wrong it is and what upset it has caused, but did it just this once for his mum. I told you in my PM that we don't get on with her anyway....i think you can start to understand why. Next time i'm down in Freo i will give you a shout, i'll bring the wino;):) |
