I fly homee on the 20th Jan,so i need to get an stuff shipped before i go.My Oh who is staying but will moving out of the renatl after i go has told me to take everything back.We will be having a shared container and have been told it will be around $5000-$7000 but as a rough quote is this expensive.When i was in the Uk I was told that it was £3000 for your own container so this seems a bit expensive.Any thoughts would be appreciated.Thanks Jill

Not sure if it is of any use but we used Wridgeways. We self packed 75 boxes all shapes and sizes. They collected done all the relevant documentation and sent back to Co. Durham. It was obviously a shared container which maybe took it a little longer to get back (4 months in total - door to door) This cost us $2,800.00 after a little bit of backwards and forwards. We decided to sell all our big things ie. suite, tv, beds, tables etc and save the money till we got back and buy here instead of waiting.

This does seem expensive we have a shared container $3.500 We haven't got the stuff yet and it was sent in November.

Ok my actual quotes have now come in from Overseas packers they said $9480 for shared container and $9800 for full container this seems such a rip off am i right in thinking this....I think they are playing on the fact that i go home on the 20th January,i just think this seems real expensive..we are not sending back the full contents of a 4 bedroom house we are sending only about 10 boxes, 3 bikes, a pc, 3 piece lounge suite and 2 chairs, fridge washer, hoover,flat pack king bed +matress, bed tables x2 and dressing table and 2 toy chests i thought about $6000 would of been about right have we been overquoted?

Is this the only company you've approached? I would want quotes from at least 3. You're not going to know if you've been "overquoted" unless you have others with which to compare.

Hi..this is not really relevant to your post, noticed that you are on the sunshine coast going back to the UK. We to are on the Sunshine Coast and I desperatly want to go home. Can I ask why you are leaving and when you are going? How long have you been out here? Would love to hear your reply.
