Default Shipping bicycle

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows how much it would cost to ship a bicycle (removable wheels etc) to the UK from Australia - or if anyone has any opinions on the cost not being worth it and to just buy another one on arrival?

You can put it in a box and take it as baggage on the plane

Exactly, it can be taken as part of your check in baggage as long as you don't exceed the standard 23kgs for all of your baggge, if you do, you are better sending bags of clothes as unaccompanied baggage.

Unaccompanied baggage is weighed and measured and goes on whichever is the greater, volumetric or actual weight. Bikes normally volume to at least 36kgs.........sometimes over 50kgs dependent on the size of the box......

Thanks to you both, that is very helpful. I didn't know you could do it this way.

Beedubya - not long now! My dad who is nearly 70 goes back on 2 April.

PM me if you want to know anything about unaccompanied baggage or excess baggage.

Oh I thought your dad was off before me? When are you heading off?

Only 18 sleeps for me.
