Default Returning with Electricals from US

I've been told that the following will work using a step up converter(which my UK pal gave to me from the UK).

Bose/Wii/Xbox360/ihome clock radio

Has anyone had experience using a converter for US products in the UK?

Thanks

You may want to ask the Americans over on http://www.uk-yankee.com/
They seem to take all kinds of electrical's back to UK with them. I think they have stickies about what works.
