Bonny, did you find what you were looking for? There's another related thread (about certified vets) just come up that you might find helpful.

Hi Bonny. this is REALLY helpful. It's from a pet exporter that has put this on the uk-yankee forum.
I'm working on some Guidelines with some valuable information. It is only a draft and far from completion but its a start.

Hi Bonny,
We're taking our dog back to the UK in 6 weeks - this is how it's working for us......
Dog has rabies jab (by approved vet)
One month later he has a blood test
Have booked a carrier who will come to my door and take the dog - they arrange everything else this end
Have found a quarantine kennels near home - the carrier will arrange this for you if necessary
When the dog lands (in plane!), he is being collected by our quarantine kennels.
Dogs have to have 6 months elapse from the blood test until being 'released' in UK. They only have to spend time in quarantine in the UK if the full 6 months hasn't elapsed. So if you know you will be leaving in 6 months time then you can have the dog (or cat if the same rules) spend 4 - 5 months of it's quarantine at home with you and just 1 - 2 months in kennels in the UK.
Hope this makes sense.

Yes makes sense, but can I add 'he is already (or gets) micro-chipped' before 'dog has rabies jab', just for completeness/clarity. Ta G.

Yes I'm in Dartmouth NS.Help would be great my problem is still the form's I need to print off for the vet to fill in.
I have checked the DEFRA website but still can not find all the info I need.
I was told all I need is Official Veterinary Certificate but then someone said there was more paper work to be filled in.
Would like to thank everyone for helping me here.
