Wait a minute. The candy is made in the US, and put into a box in the UK? Are the jelly beans flown over in vats? What would be the purpose of this? To create jobs?

Doesn't take up as much space on the boat. Löwenbräu beer for instance is brewed in Munich, but gets shipped in ginormous tanks and is bottled locally.

So I was in our local supermarket today and saw a variety of Cadbury's choc bars, unfortunately they are made under licence by Hershey's, which is why I've never bought them in the US.
Out of interest I looked at the ingredients for the Hershey's own brand of choc bars, located next to the Cadbury ones. They definitely had the (evil) high fructose corn syrup, whereas the Hershey's 'Cadbury' brand didn't.
If Kraft is taking over the Cadbury's business, I wonder what will happen to the Cadbury's chocs made under licence here by Hershey's?
(There was also Green & Black's choc bars on the supermarket shelf, love it, but hadn't noticed before that it is made in Italy (or the stuff on sale in my locality is).
