A bit of a family crisis going on a the moment...

Well, my brother was admitted to a pshychiatric hospital over the weekend, it been an ongoing thing for him in rumbling away in background for years but he's not had an 'episode' for 6 years or more.

There is lot more back story which I won't bore you with involving interfering relatives (an aunt) and the upshot is that my parents are worn out and upset. My dads wife whom I love very much, has here elderly parents living with them (her father has dementia) and is stressed out.

So, I'm going to try and look for a flight to get home once I calm down, I'm still upset from a phone call with her where she was upset

If anyone comes across any flights to London from Atlanta that leave in the next week anytime that seem like a good price I'd be very greatful if you could post them here. I'm getting $599 rtn on BA to leave Tuesday, but I'd go before that if I could get it for that price, preferably the end of this week.

You are probably going to be paying more for any non full fare ticket if you are booking less than 7days before departure. What is $599 today will probably be more tomorrow.

the fares up until next wednesday are over $1100 each way, then they drop to $234. I wasn't aware that that they would up the prices like that, so I'm going to book today if I can.

Through my wholesalers I usually do pretty well, pm your return date.

If Atlanta is your most convenient airport look at which airports fly out of there tp country's other than the UK but have stops in the UK for fuel and passenger transfers etc ?
For example ;- Say a ticket on air tibet (if such and airline existed) had a stop at heathrow and the ticket price to Tibet was cheaper the a BA ticket to the UK, you buy a ticket to Tibet and leave the flight at Heathrow ! if you see what I mean ?

Kate once looked for a ticket for me that cost $800 ! but another airline to somewhere else was cheaper and involved a stop at the airport I wanted to et to, she booked the other destination for half the cost and I just walked of the plane and out of the airport for $240

Without a return date I can't help you unless you want a one way, but I was looking at flights leaving Friday or Saturday.

$599 is not a bad price. It will likely go down a bit in February as it always does, but for right now, in a pinch, I'd probably jump on $599

Does the $599 include the tax?

I just did a quick rip around with orbitz and there was a couple of air canada flights for $299.00 but with the taxes its $609......and you have to go through toronto.......
