I always thought NZ stole from OZ?

No I'm NOT joking. The aussies have a long history of this. They have claimed among other things that the pavlova, split enz, crowded house, russell crowe and believe it or not, sam neil as all being australian! Kiwis at least are gracious enough to point out that Sam Neil was born in the UK and came to NZ with his parents as a child.

I spose there's always late night bars and clubs that charge a fortune for drinks and not to forget the humble but at times suspect kebab shop ;)

Yeah Oz is great at claiming what isn't theirs.

Russell Crowe (Kiwi)
Jane Campion (Kiwi)
Nicole Kidman (Born in Hawaii)
Mel Gibson (Born in US)

I think even Phar Lap was a Kiwi horse, but might be wrong there.

oh, and 'Aussie' Joe Bugner

Yeah, he lived down the road from me when I was a teenager. I went out with his son Joe Jr at school. One of the aussies that australia can keep thanks.

When Joe Jr's Mum and Joe Sr split up Joe Sr stayed in the marital home, this massive mansion which in rural Cambridgeshire was well out of place. Joe and his sister along with their Mum moved to a council house 2 miles down the road. Always remember Sr being a waste of space.

I'm here by 'default' LOL But yeh, the OZ pinching Kiwi stuff/people and claiming it/them as their own is a high point of tension between the two nations.

Be like France saying they invented 'fish n chips' or 'The Beatles' LOL

I even recall a post from some perth girl in uk who whinged about how she couldn't get brownes coffee chill in uk LOL

And by the way: If you ever have any hope of making it here, remember it is vital you do not order a cappacino after 10:30 am Why 10:30? Well prob cos that's when the breakfast menu ends :D Reminds me of that Michael Douglas movie about the guy having a bad day.

When was the last time you were in the UK? Every high street in every place in Britain has become a centre for spending excessive amounts of time in trendy cafes drinking latte, mocha, frapacino coffees. Its definately become a British national pastime I think they are entering a team for the 2012 Olympics :) People are even buying houses based upon them being in Cappacino land puts house prices up apparently

Yeh I'm sure property prices rose in Fremantle cos of the 'cappacino' strip development. It's all a bit of a worry, esp for people like me who'd rather have a portion of plaice n chips and a lge mug of tea at the 'greasy spoon' ;)
