Moving back from Spain
Morning! I'm new here, apologies if this is a repeat thread (I have looked and not found anything).
I'm moving back to the UK this summer after 14 years in Spain and wondered if anyone had similar experience?
Specifically wondering about transferring or claiming any social security benefits or the like...
Thank you!

Re: Moving back from Spain
Keeping it simple:
As a British citizen, you'll be eligible for the NHS as soon as you move back permanently.
As far as "social security benefits" go, you'll need to take a habitual residency test & likely there'll be a wait before you're eligible, depending on what you actually mean by "social security benefits".
Some clarification on your part about what you mean by ssb would help us help you .

Given the likelihood of a hard Brexit, it is a good idea to have an EU passport post Brexit.

Re: Moving back from Spain
Hi, yes, I'm fine about registering in the UK. I meant when I leave my job in Spain, as I now know I won't need unemployment benefits or health cover, pension etc here can I somehow claim it or get it transferred to the UK or do I just "lose" 14 years accumulated work history? I've never paid taxes in the UK so as far as state pensions etc are concerned I've never contributed...

If you don't get replies...you may be best to ask questions specific to Spain in the Spain forum...
