I do that too, I'm from Oxford area so I say Raaaanch dressing and it's always 'pardon mam? did you say French?', also because I can't bring myself to say tomayto!
Endless fun with those voice activated 'find out what's on at a movie theatre near you' phone numbers, I like to put on my worst american accent, works everytime, try it in 'english' you'll get nowhere!

Of course we did and we have stayed in touch ever since.
My favourite, told on here many times, was a friends mother who told me that her favourite part of London was Bath.

Another Wirralian here. I grew up in Neston til I was 19, went to school in Birkenhead, then a few years in Newcastle then 10 in Birmingham. Spent a few years in Virginia & now in Pennsylvania which feels more like home & probably my last big move - unless we get rich & can afford a 2nd home in England!

wow, I'm not very far, maybe 40 mins away. I'm in Butler County, just north of the city/ town of Butler.

I haven't found my way around that much yet. When we moved, we bought a house that needs a LOT of fixing up, so that kept us busy for months & sicne winter started, I stay inside! We run a business from home so that ties me here too. Hopefully when Spring finally gets here, we'll be out & about more, I can can visit some new places.

No, I tend to order on line for British stuff. There is a coffee and tea merchant in Market Sq and they sell Typhoo, PG tips and Yorkshire gold and Marmite!
The Giant Eagle in the South Hills sells a lot too but at a price.
Although I moan about Pittsburgh it's not too bad here. I love Ohiopyle and the area around it.

I did go to the Giant Eagle in Cranberry last week & they had some stuff - expensive but I still filled the trolley! It was a nice supermarket though - reminded me of Sainsbury's. So much choice that for a moment, I forgot that I hate shopping.

Ooo that was something I miss - Sainsbury's! When I first moved here & couldn't find anything I wanted in the supermarket - or it had a different name - I started to hate shopping & my husband, bless him, started doing it all for me.

oooohhh Sainsburys......I miss that place, infact I miss British supermarkets.

I miss the way that Tescos, Asda etc sell everything...clothes, housewares.Sometimes it meant it took a long time to get round and you wondered how you managed to buy a microwave oven as well as the sausages. That doesn't happen here, our local supermarkets are very dull...apart from the big, expensive Giant Eagle.

You could allways go to a soul destroying super walmart, who have Junk Food + Junk non-food

I can only go to Super Walmart alone. My OH loves it there and gets lost and I spend hours wandering the aisles looking for him, to the point where I want to climb to the top of the shelves and just bellow his name.
