No such thing as UK road worthiness. Basically, you'll need to meet import criteria that have changed fairly recently. In short, an Aus made car will need the speedo either replacing or a new sticker over the top to convert the kph to mph, given Aus cars do not have mph. That's the main thing along with the inclusion of a rear fog light, which, on many cars, is simple as the wiring is there, just not used. Depends on the car - a Japanese car is more likely to have it. A local car like a Falcon or Commodore will not, and thus will need an additional switch and wiring.

It is certainly possible, and fairly easy, but much will depend on the car. Then it will need an MOT but that should be OK. Just not having done it myself, it's hard to say everything that is required.

when we imported from the middle east we had to prove we'd owned the car for more than 6 months to aviod the import duty,
convert speedo and trip to mph
ammend logbook
change headlight angles (its a LHD)
have it emmissions tested so it passes UK laws
change petrol filler assemby to fit UK pump hoses

and I think that was it if I remember

Mark,

Try Kent Moving and Storage. they are based in QLD and are linked to a UK firm.
www.kentmoving.com

They are bringing my car in and sending it back when I am finished here. They should be able to assist in someway.
