I hear you. When I visited home (Scotland) at Christmas, the sun rose at 8:35 a.m. A good hour and a half later than here in the US.

That being said, you can't beat the long summer nights:D

How I miss the 'hoolies' - watching the seagulls flying backwards, and the occasional liberated trampoline passing the window...Though I must say, it was a great place to go through the menopause, as those draughts whisting through the cracks sure cooled down the hot flushes! I'd hate to be menopausal in Australia right now :)

Are you in Portugal right now? I visited Portugal many years ago when my auntie lived there, and love it. Lisbon, and Cascais area.

Hi just reading this thread and just wondered why you are going/hoping to go back to OZ as I take it this will be your second time, just wondering or maybe just being nosey. We are going back to the UK for the second time hence why asking Sue1

Yeah i noticed that when i was back last xmas i took a few pairs back for some friends, i love my uggs wear mine in the winter here never have them off.

Came back last year havent settled even tho OH has a grea=at job and we have a lovely house, have realised we want to go back miss the friends we made and enjoyed the life there, my fault:o Eldest daughter still there. We mght try East but probably will go back to Perth, just need to get a job at the mo.

Crickey going back this time will be hard enough, why you coming back again?

Afraid to say can't settle here this time and friends have all moved on, we were back in the UK for 4 years before we came back, so it hasn't all been great, can't fault the place (NZ) just not where we want to be still miss family and friends back in the UK. Yeah its going to be hard regarding job, house etc but OH been told this week here there isn't any more work for him so we would be looking for a job if we stayed here but we just feel at least in the UK we have got family support etc. Hope all goes well for you getting back, good luck Sue

I know how you feel. I was like that last week here in Sydney. In fact we both were. Not much domestic bliss in our house i can tell you :lol:

I found the best thing for me to do was fill up a bath with cold water and keep dipping in and out of it
