Oh, and just as a little post script;
During my time in Blighty I didn't get mugged, shot, stabbed, robbed, car-jacked, hyjacked or offered any dodgy substances (mores the pity
). I encountered teenagers hanging around in the city, they didn't mug me either. I heard Polish (I think) spoken my respectable looking people in town just going about their business.

I'm glad you had a great time Tracey and the pictures look lovely.

So glad you had a great trip, Tracey!
I imagine it will have put rather a jaunt to your step on returning - you found what you were looking for, it lived up to expectations, and you can now cross off the months until you get back for good.
Sooo pleased for you.

great to read about your reccie back home, sounds like a pretty successful trip all in all
best to ignore the negative UK media reports along with the negative posts on here. i go back frequently and as yet have never seen or witnessed any of the violence or crime that is reported. the UK is home, warts and all

I have finally sussed out that the British people are quite reserved on the whole. They will more often than not speak if spoken to, smile if smiled at and treat you with curtesy if they're treated with the same respect.

I am truly pleased for you Tracey and hope you go home and find your niche. I am so envious that you were able to birth those lambs, what a beautiful experience that must have been.
Those pictures of Ottery brought back some lovely memories for me of holidays spent in South and East Devon as a newly wed and those pic's of the snowdrops brought tears to my eyes. I planted snowdrops around every shrub in my garden back home and what a beautiful site they were on a cold crisp day.

So glad the trip went well and helped you with the decision!
I know Ottery v well indeed. Am there at this moment as I type, just up from the church.
The tar barrels are the highlight of the Ottery calendar!
Did you go to Sidmouth too whilst here?
If you need any info about Tipton or anywhere, let me know and I'll help if I can.
All the best and you should be back for the autumnal colour -
