I've done that too, each time we fly, (except one time in Toronto where we had to collect, go through customs, round a corner and drop it back off!) but it was within the same Airport, when you change airports completely the baggage handlers would have to take luggage across the city. I can't see them doing that.
I can't remember what airport it was at, but there was one trip I made where I had to change airports completely as the Domestic Terminal wasn't part of the International Airport, but even then my suitcase went onward without me seeing it. LOL I had to catch a train to the International airport and they'd load everyone's cases onto these shuttle truck thingies and drive them all over, because as you can imagine there are a lot of people switching from Domestic to International. I guess it also depends on how far away the International Terminal actually is. Time to do some more research I think... LOL  |
Re: I'm all set !
Well it looks like I definitely won't be flying out on April 9th :( Received a call from the passport examiner yesterday and she said she's still waiting to hear back from the UK, so there's no chance the application will be approved, passport printed and received by me, anytime soon.. :(
I don't know why they just didn't treat it as a first time application, especially as all the documents were there that they needed, but because I mentioned that I'd had a UK passport before (in the 80's) they then decided to look into that further. So now I wait !!! It will be 7 weeks on Wednesday since they started processing the application and 5 weeks on Wednesday since they first called me and told me they were contacting the UK for confirmation of my previous passport (old passport wasn't attached to the application) I knew I shouldn't have mentioned anything on my application..lol, although knowing my luck they WOULD have found my old passport information and then contacted me about THAT ! LOL |

Sorry to hear that crappy news. Just keep thinking positive thoughts that soon you will be back home and these days will be behind you.
But I will stay positive and I KNOW that I'm going to be going home. :) |
Re: I'm all set !
thats' a bummer about the delay, but good point, the weather will probably be a bit warmer when you finally do arrive..

Re: I'm all set !
Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear of further delay.
I guess that you have been very wise to not even buy a ticket at all while waiting to get your passport. Now it will all come together perfectly, the passport will arrive, and you will find a killer deal on a flight that doesn't have you traipsing across town with suitcases, and the place you are going to stay at will drop their rates just for you. All in time for summer and sunshine and not too many rain showers. |
