DHL don't deliver on weekends and as of Thursday they hadn't even sent it for printing :(. I didn't request expedited service but when I contact them via web chat they said they would expedite but I don't know to what degree they will rush it lol

Well it's a little upsetting to realise that I won't be getting on that plane on Tuesday, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to look up at the sky and think 'that should have been me' as the plane flies over. Especially because of one delay or another I technically should have left a month ago, now this further delay is just making me more impatient and I'm not patient at the best of times. LOL

I just want to get out of here...!! So here I am...biting my tongue to stop myself from snapping at everybody no matter how annoying they are and just crossing the days off the calendar. I'm remembering to BREATHE!!!!

I know it won't be long...but any delay is one delay too many. lol Each day I am still here makes me realise more and more how much I want to be home.

That's the thing love, they have no clue why it's taking so long..lol 7 bloody long weeks to process a passport application??:eek: I mean really? How long does it take to type a name into a computer to confirm the person had a passport before? Unless they've had to go into the very bowels of the building and look through millions of boxes and try to find one tiny piece of paper hiding at the very bottom of the box? :rofl::rofl:

I think they should just give me my damn passport, refund the money for the inconvenience and then THEY pay to have it delivered express overnight.:rofl::rofl: But we all know THAT isn't going to happen.:rofl:

I thought that too... I thought maybe they gave it to an examiner and he/she locked it in their drawer and then went on 2 weeks vacation...:rofl: Of course they wouldn't admit that...they just say they're waiting to hear back from the UK, so they're blaming the UK for the delay !:eek:

I had just popped into your thread to see how things were going with your plans as I knew that you were supposed to be leaving soon.
At least they have been in touch with you though, so you know for sure that your passport application is being worked on.:)

Sorry this has happened. This is one of the few things that I've struggled with in the UK. People seem to take an age to do anything and everyone is always going on holiday or some other kind of leave. Very few people work before 9am or after 5 pm, or on weekends, bank holidays or their vacation days, and everyone gets a lot of vacation days. The end result is that everything is much slower. Also there's a bizarre reliance on snail mail for a lot of things.

It's a much better culture in which to be an employee, but it drives you nuts as a customer. I've found the only solution is to do what you're doing - nag and nag and nag until someone digs out your letter from the pile of other things they're behind on, and deals with it just to shut you up.

Thank you....I'm going to wait until Wednesday, which will make it 7 weeks and I will call them again. I'm going to keep bugging them until they do something about it :rofl::rofl: I'm praying I get the PP this week !:thumbsup:

Oh I have been nagging..lol, I've contacted them at least twice a week for the past month.. :rofl: The silly part is I don't understand what the hold up is. As of last Thursday it hadn't even been sent to the UK for printing, but the delay is definitely on the UK end because they're slow in communicating back to the US. I hope they're NOT relying on snail mail for something like this because even though it would explain the delay it would seem VERY ridiculous in this day and age with the availability of fax, internet and email.

But I'm going to nag them again on Wednesday and remind them 'nicely' that it has been 7 weeks and counting. :rofl:

But FINALLY I have some GOOD news !!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't be bothered waiting for the phone to ring, so I did another web chat a little while ago. I thought something was different when the lady asked me to confirm my place of birth. She said my application was processed, but they didn't have a tracking number yet and to call back on Friday. So just to confirm I said 'They have sent it for printing???' She replied:

" YOUR PASSPORT WAS PRINTED TODAY !!!!!!!!!! " OMG OMG OMG

So if everyone is right and DHL ship overnight I should get my passport by the end of the week. :thumbsup::thumbsup: Which means...all being well.. I might be flying out next Tuesday :)
