Finally after two years of asking HSBC confirm they will transfer a Canadian checking account to the UK only if I have the account where they charge $7.50 a month for fee.
However it will be monies in the account and they will transfer at their exchange rate only into Sterling. So thats how they get ya........Only when you are in the UK will they transfer the funds to open the UK account.....
Oh in the small print it says in Canada only the fee of $7.50 is waived if a holder is aged 62 or older.
Just thought it was useful info.
