How did your skin react?

How did your skin react?
Just wondering 'cause I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else so far ...... I've noticed a definite change in how my skin and hair are behaving since I arrived.
The water here seems to be pretty "soft" i.e. lots of bubbles, hair very soft and fly away, but my skin overall seems a lot dryer. I think I'm going to have to rethink my skin and hair care products/routines if it doesn't normalise (probably not a real word lol) in a few weeks.

After 14 year I can't remember how it affected me but if we have visitors from the UK during the winter months they always remark how dry their skin is.
One thing I do find is that I get an itchy scalp...usually worse in winter. Neutrogena TGel shampoo and Scalpicin helps but spending time in the UK works even better...after a day or so the itching's gone.

My hands get insanely dry and cracked in the winter. Stupid Cleveland weather.

Re: How did your skin react?
Mine is dried out, (Skin and hair) no amount of conditioner and moisturizer seems to help, but I keep trying. It's the hot and dry weather and the water isn't as soft as where we lived in UK, and there's a lot of chlorine in it. I tested it as I was going to add chlorine to the big wading pool we bought, no need, the water treatment plant already added more than enough So I waited till the next day when it had all burned off to add a bit more.

Re: How did your skin react?
Well Cindy did ask everyone to be creative, I like it!
When I lived in So Cal, it seemed the water was softer, of course when I moved to the UK, it was different, but then again, so was the shower pressure. Now that we're in Washington, I can tell the difference when I go down to Oregon (water is softer) compared to here.
And of course my skin is drier, but that's how it is in the winter, colder climate. But when I lived in So Cal it would be drier when the Santa Anas blew. And it was pretty dry in the UK because of the colder conditions....
Now if we want to talk allergies....

Make sure you take a trip up to Yorktown...just up the road from you..

Not really, I find the water hard cause I lived in Wales, soft water and it tasted great straight from the tap, it came from a nearby lake. If I went swimming in the lakes (not often too bloody cold all that snow run off) my hair was super soft without using anything on it.
