I am going back to the UK next year for several months but I plan to work remotely from the U.S. so I don't have to pay taxes to support benefit cheats in the UK. Will I have any problem using the NHS though having been abroad for 10 years ? I read about a woman in The Sun, who lived in Spain for 20 years then moved home and was deported as an "illegal asylum seeker". I don't want any aggro when I go back. Has anyone else had this situation ?

So you will be avoiding taxes so you're not paying for benefit cheats. What about all of the other tax funded services which I presume you will be using whilst in the UK?

I presume from your comments that you will be in UK for an extensive amount of time and not just the allowed 90 days a year.

If you don't claim asylum when you enter the UK then you should face no difficulties about being mis classified as an asylum seeker.

So you want to live in the UK, continue to work (remotley) as if you are in the US, paying into the US system, US taxes etc, not pay any UK PAYE tax or NIC and yet utilise all that the NHS has to offer - you are having a laugh! you are no better than a benefit cheat. How do you think the NHS is funded exactly??

I am only going to be there for 2 months so I am not planning on using the NHS like these CHAVs do to get breast implants and liposuction. I just want to know whether it is safe to go to hospital if I get sick without getting infected by some kind of flesh-eating disease or having to negotiate with a QUANGO ? My little bit of earnings won't be sufficient to fix Broken Britain, but is is troubling to see that as soon as I mention making a living on this thread that half a dozen people pop up trying to redistribute my wealth.
