well perth is not for us been hear 7 months. The job front is good if you like crap money or are prepared to work up north.
Tried the fire service and kept running in to brick walls thats with 14yrs experience,a very long story.
wife is a nurse and even she says that the money is poor unless you want to work nights or week ends, but at the end of the day we come hear for a better life not to work our buts off 24/7.
education is questionable 15yr old has very little home work and is bored out his mind,he has been offered drugs and nearly mugged at the train station,(thanks to a scotish woman who stepped in).
beaches are great and the weather nice but thats it.
so we are cutting our losses and heading home asap
we are both sad that things have not turned out the wife more so.
but thats life one long journey.
some times you make mistakes
cheers to everyone for the advice i have received over the months and bloody good luck to anyone trying you will need it

This sums up what most people think of Perth. I have to say Perth is taking alot of bashing lately, people coming out of the closet and being honest. We all say the same thing about it....boring, lifeless, crap wages, expensive and so on...

Shame we weren't told all this before we left our homeland. Or should i say, shame people can't be more honest.

Hopefully I will be ganning yem with ya..lol.. We are in the states and I am hoping me and the kids will leave in June and the hubby will follow in August. I am assuming your from the North? Nothing like seeing that coast line when flying into Newcastle. I never get tired of seeing it.

Good luck with your move.

Hi task
we met you at one of the meets last year (we live in seaton delaval).
Graham and i were just saying the other day we were wondering how you were getting on so it was a bit of a shock to find this thread!

cant believe you are heading back and we havent even got out there yet - but i guess things dont always work out they way we expect!

where are you planning on heading when you come back? If you end up around these parts and you fancy a meet up give us a shout - you can tell us all about how much you hated perth!

Adele + Graham
(p.s. you dont fancy buying our house do you?!!! only kidding )

Totally agree Rachel. So many people seem to feel they have to bleat about just how totally perfect it all is And how totally stupid I feel for believing them

Honesty - that's all we wanted, no wonder we all go out there with the rose tinted specs on and have the shock of our lives

My hubby is from your area. He has lived in North Shields, Monkseaton, Seaton Sluice. It is a very pretty coast line but bloody cold! Tynemouth is a beautiful place, I love walking around the Priory. Anyway, good luck with your move.

I agree Tracey, this is the only way of looking at it.

At least you tried!
