Does this place exist in the UK?

The Wirral. Good views of the Welsh Hills, easy access to them.Lots of outdoor pursuits to do with the water as well.
Equally good access to Liverpool by car and train...European Capital of Culture next year but a great place to live anyway and quite close to Manchester.
Good airports too.

The western edge of Sheffield has all those qualities
But don't tell anyone
It's supposed to be a secret

Thanks for your suggestions! It made me think about areas that I had not considered before. Ie.:
Poole - From the web its seems beautiful! My only concern is jobs. Doing a basic search there werent alot of admin jobs, and the ones listed did not pay too well. I liked the fact that you can Kayak there!! Thanks for the suggestion.
Sheffield - I will have to do alot of research there as I do not know the safe and picturesque areas. It seems like a good option though.
Chester - I have been thinking about that area - but had heard something about chemical pollution being blown over the area or something???
I would appreciate it if you could suggest some picturesque, safe areas to live in Chester - somewhere not too quiet and around other singles.
Probably the tops is Macclesfieled - Does anyone know the area well? It seems to have clean air, good jobs -
Thanks all -

Macclesfield is well positioned...near to the M6/M56 and Manchester airport. I lived in Tytherington and Broken Cross areas of Macc but it was a long time ago so I'm not sure how much it has changed.
I was in Chester last month looking at properties. There is a large business park to the west of Chester if you are looking for admin work.

Is Chester your favourite place out of the three? What areas of Chester would you suggest to live in for a young single person that wants a safe area?
Also, is there alot to do in Macclesfield - the only concern I have is that I would be bored ( I like the outdoors - kayaking, hiking climbing etc) Hopefully there Is a busy town center?
Thanks Jersey Girl!

Macclesfield is well placed for your outdoor activities too. I believe the town centre as grown a lot since I lived there. I spent most of my time in the Wilmslow/Alderley Edge area. There are lots of small lively towns nearby and of course Stockport and Manchester aren't too far away.
Sheffield...will always hold a special place in my heart...I would love to go back there. There are several people on here who live in Sheffield...perhaps they'll be able to recommend some areas to you.

A town that is close to the mountains/large hills, maybe close enough that you can see them from town.
A town that is large enough that it has good employment prospects (office)and is good for a single thirty something person to meet likewise people. (dont want to be around alot of retirees or college crowds) I love em, but want to meet other people my age/
A town/city that attracts an outdoorsy community that likes doing things like mountain climbing, hiking, or biking.
Oh, and low crime.....Am I dreaming here?

Bath. It is a college town, but the campus is away up the hill. Surrounded by five hills (actually the rim of a prehistroic volanco). Large MBK community (MBUK mag is published in Bath). Proximity to both the Cotswolds and Devon/Cornwall. Good affluent and young population. Crime's about the national average - a lot better than nearby Bristol in that regard, for sure. Major downsides are a) very expensive property costs b) year-round tourism and c) traffic congestion.
Lived there for ten years and if I was forced at gunpoint back to the UK, that's where I'd go.
