Re: does anyone feel ashamed or feel like a traitor?
whatever happened to
"for better of for worse
In good times and in bad" etc
Imagine if war Brides had taken the same attitude, sounds like a whole lot of feeling sorry for one self, my way or the highway, as a man I would say, take the highway, how can a man still call himself a man when given an ultimatum???

Happily, never heard such a bunch of whining and complaining, I guess after the best left, all that remained was the Rest.

OK guys don't let him get to you.
Howard: this forum is for people wanting to move back to the UK and for those who can offer positive help and advice. It seems you do not fit into either of these categories...you only seem to be annoying people...therefore can you please refrain from posting in the UK forums.

That's a lot more polite than what most people are thinking, I'm guessing. :curse:

Feeling "traitorous" was also something I felt - God only knows what I thought I was depriving the country of! Definitely talk the situation through with your wife, a problem shared is a problem halved.

Re: does anyone feel ashamed or feel like a traitor?
ive been in australia for 3 years now. brisbane. the homesickness/isolation was very slow to set in to be honest...the first year was a novelty and went by very fast.
now though, i feel like a traitor. i feel that i turned my back on the greatest country on earth-great britain.
i have developed quite a hatred to this place and feel isolated. i should go back, but my wife doesnt really know i feel this way.
living here is like living on mars...australia misses out on so much.
in the uk u can jump on a plane and with in 3 hours be in anyone of about 15 different countries (at least)...here though, it takes 3 hours to get to its closest neighbour--NZ.
/rant
thanks for listening

Shut up and stop upsetting people, you have no idea of how they are feeling and therefore, should refrain from quite a few of your comments.
