Default Docs needed to return

Hi everyone, I am about to renew my Red Passport, and I am told I need to check to see if I can return to the UK... I am Sottish by birth, came back to SA in 2008, and I am dying to get back...I was told I might not be able to return, or something, but I cannot find anything to verify the comments.

Does anybody know about any conditions that a British Subject has to meet to return, other than having a valid passport and a ticket?

Gary

Nope, have passport, will travel! Whether you get services or benefits when you arrive could be an issue but if you have a UK passport then welcome home!

sorted, thanks.... you don't have any contacts on finding work as well do you?

My main background is Customer Services and or Training, but I am pretty flexible when it comes to work, just to get over there, and can do a lot.

Pretty fit, can do manual labour, "have done manual labour" lol, sign writter by trade, currently work in a Courier Business, loads of work experience, too much to type whilst working.

Appreciate any assistance, and thanks again in advance.

If it's just you and you have a British passport, then no problem whatsoever. What some returnees are finding difficult is that they have a non-uk, non-EU spouse who needs a visa in order to accompany the British citizen on the move back to the homeland...

Nope but I see plenty of positions vacant in shop windows and the employment agency boards seem to have plenty on offer to get your foot in the door
