I have just been informed that our first Christmas back in blighty is going to be held at daughter number 1's house. But because we are now back, the entire "flea" clan wishes to descend upon us. This means 8 adults and 7 kids!!
And guess what??... Nanna has been voted as christmas dinner planner!!

I dont know WHY i have got the job. I am not known for my prowess as a domestic goddess
God knows what i'm going to cook....so.. i am turning to you guys for ideas.
The easiest thing would be to just dish up an enormous turkey, but oh no! that would be too easy wouldnt it? Mr Flea hates turkey and the girls dont want it either
Roast beef is off as we have it nearly every week. So what do i do??
I want something exciting but not too difficult to cook... any ideas??
OH! and no one like christmas pudding either... god help me
And guess what??... Nanna has been voted as christmas dinner planner!!

Goose might be big enough? If not, depends on your oven & everyone´s taste - maybe multiple chickens if it has to be poultry? Or a huge roast pork/beef? Or you could always go out or pay a fortune to get caterers? Or conveniently ´break your arm´(

Now theres a thought...
If i got out of bed early on christmas morning, got completely pie eyed by 10am, revealing a secret drink problem aquired due to the extreme boredom of living in dullsville for years, i wouldnt have to cook ANYTHING and go to bed ... what a memorable christmas day that would be
I think i have a plan coming together though. I shall be the organisor and delegate jobs to everybody
Get a plan made.. we'll sure as hell need one.
I know i said no beef, but i was just looking on the Jamie Oliver forum and someone suggested a rib roast hung for 28 days prior. I reckon thats one option with maybe a gammon joint as well.
Not even started on the 550 other variables of veggies and side dishes and puddings and and and....

I just read something VERY odd on the Jamie Oliver forum. Not sure what it would taste like... a ham cooked in cherry coca cola!!

You have just made me realise something. I am not sure about goose. Firstly my 2 son inlaws are the most boring foodies i have ever met. But i am not sure her oven would be big enough for large goose. Gawwwd, how do you break an arm with little pain?

Christmas shouldn't be stressful and with a family that size, you should be able to make it a team effort.

Well in Spain we have two christmas days as it were, the 25th like the rest of the normal world but my ex-wife has just bought a new house in Leicestershire where`s she`s from and wants me to spend christmas there with her
As for January 6th, with my own family here.
