Default Cargo Insurance - any recommendations

I am shipping much of my US furniture back to the UK during my move in October- have read some older posts re: costs of beds in UK (many £) and cost of other furniture (very low £ used) so have winnowed down a lot of things. I do however have some art works which I inherited which need better insurance than offered by the shipper. Has anyone used a 3rd party insurer that didn't required hugely detailed valuations (which are hard and $$ to get)? Have read a couple, though admittedly not many, horror stories about water damage and then of course that ship sank a couple of weeks ago! I just need to insure the irreplaceable things.
