Have you tried a thread search, can't remember anyone in recent times doing this but maybe going back a bit.

As much as I love my car I can sell it here + get something almost the same there for less (and then adding shipping costs and hiring another car for 3+ months followed by all the paperwork hassles, it is not worth it for me).

In Aus we drive on the same side of the road as the UK so presumably there is less hassle in coverting the vehicle to UK spec, would it not bother you having the steering wheel on the wrong side (or is it a collector typed classic that you don't really drive much?)

Hi i started to look into this myself, but ended up selling my car before i left Canada. It seemed the easiest option in the end

We shipped an Expedition back last year for my FIL. It cost around $1500 for the train and the boat. I can't help with the cost UK end as that was FIL's part of it all. I do know he waited 6-7 months before registering it so it was 10 years old - it meant it didn't need to be SVA'd.

That being said, there is a huge American car scene in the UK. Insurance is easy to get and it really isn't a problem driving with the steering wheel on the wrong side
