Chav or Charv/Charver is a mainly derogatory slang term in the United Kingdom for a subcultural stereotype fixated on fashions such as gold jewellery and 'designer' clothing. They are generally considered to have no respect for society, and be ignorant or unintelligent. The term appeared in mainstream dictionaries in 2005.[1][2] The defining features of the stereotype include clothing in the Burberry pattern (notably a now-discontinued baseball cap) and from a variety of other casual and sportswear brands. Tracksuits, hoodies, sweatpants and baseball caps are particularly associated with this stereotype. Response to the term has ranged from amusement to criticism that it is a new manifestation of classism. [3] The term has also been associated with delinquency, the "ASBO Generation", "Hoodie culture" and "yob culture". Chavs are often stereotyped as being particularly anti-emo and anti-goth, two other stereotypical groups.

Easter eggs here in Oz are shite. The taste of choc is horrid and the eggs are small and variety crap!!

So no easter eggs being bought this year, might be a good thing really.

I remember being in Blackpool one Easter weekend with my mates and the weather was 80degrees. Had a fab time too. I know Blacky is rough as they come, but i still love the place. God i miss home!!

My kids have already amassed 2 cadbury cream eggs, 2 large chocolate bunnies from Thorntons and a big packet of cadbury mini eggs between them and there is still another week to go before Easter!! I guess I will just have to help them out with the eating!!

So you miss the motherland - what is your situation - are you thinking of coming home?? Best decision we ever made was coming home. Cream cakes aside there is so much to be thankful for here!

Hi Bramblebush - how are you liking France - we love it - one of the things we really missed when we lived in Oz was our French holidays, although like anything I daresay it's completely different living there - we've mostly been to the Vendee and the Gironde - whereabouts in France are you?

Being a chocoholic I certainly wouldn't have survived in Oz without chocolate. I didn't like the Oz stuff either, but then again I don't like British chocolate. There is plenty of swiss chocolate, Lindt is one and you can also get Belgian chocolate. They have specialist chocolate shops over there, (well I don't know about Perth) but the other States had them. So you can get some decent easter eggs...

My situation is.........stuck in Perth!!! for at least 1half years more. Been here 10 months already. Bored out of my brains!

Sticking around for citizenship, which pisses some people off on this forum but thats their problem so

Will be heading back to wonderful Yorky Land once i've served my time.

Yeah I know what you mean - when you first see Perth it looks like a beautiful, vibrant city but after a while you realise how isolated you are and in fact how little there is to do/visit (unless you love endless visits to the beach/barbies etc.) I knew we had made a big mistake when we realised a day trip to wave rock was a good day out for Perthites!
